Kimberly AdamsDr. Kimberly Adams
Dr. Kimberly Adams is board certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP-CN). She received her Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida. Dr. Kimberly Adams completed her internship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in clinical neuropsychology and behavioral medicine. She completed a two-year fellowship in Neuropsychology at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia. She has also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatric Medicine at the University of Virginia.

 

Dr. Kimberly Adams specializes in neuropsychological testing and behavioral management of patients with disorders such as ADHD, traumatic brain injury, memory impairment, and dementia. She utilizes a cognitive behavioral therapy approach in treating anxiety and mood disorders.

Robby AdamsDr. Robby Adams
Dr. Robby Adams received his BS in Biology from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. He completed his Internship, General Psychiatry Residency, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is board certified by the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Robby specializes in the psychiatric assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults.

Dr. Mur Akinli

Dr. Mur Akinli received his BA in Biology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his Internship, General Psychiatry Residency, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia.  He is board eligible by the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry.  Dr. Mur specializes in the psychiatric assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults.

Carol LockmanCarol Lockman, FNP
Carol graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.  She was with her physician husband as he did his residencies in Texas, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Georgia, all while she continued to work in many clinical areas including Open Heart, Surgical ICU, Emergency Room, Dermatologic surgery, and Pediatrics.  She and her husband raised their three children primarily in Athens, Georgia.

 

Carol returned to Emory University and the Medical College of Georgia where, in 2000, she completed a Master’s degree with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She has worked as a nurse practitioner in Pediatric/Adult Immunology and Allergy, and most recently spent six years in Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia.  She moved to Wilmington in June 2009.

Linda BurbankLinda Burbank, LCSW
Linda graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. After spending several years in the public school system teaching children with special needs,  she returned to  Boston University where she earned a Masters in Social Work in clinical therapy with families and youth.  Since becoming a psychotherapist, Linda has worked as the clinical director of a co-ed adolescent residential treatment facility and a middle school based therapist, in addition to her many years in private practice. She specializes in providing psychotherapy to individuals of all ages and families. The issues treated include but are not limited to ADD,  depression , anxiety, oppositional behavior, school problems,  and family dysfunction.  Linda uses a variety of techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, and solution-focused therapy.  Linda has lived in Wilmington for 15 years.
